icon for podpress  VEE #001 Cantabria [7:50m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

Cantabria, a region in northern Spain, is an area that doesn’t generally come to mind when most foreign tourists think of Spain. It is, however, an area filled with beautiful landscapes and a history that goes way back in time. Its most famous historical artifact are the cave paintings of Altamira, which date back to the mid-Palaeolithic period, thousands of years ago. Other historic caves also found in Cantabria are Puente Viesgo, El Pendo and La Gama.

In today’s podcast, my friend David, who hails from Cantabria, talks about the geography and history that makes his home region a particularly interesting part of Spain. To learn more about Cantabria, visit Cantabria Infinita. It is a comprehensive web site that details the history of the region as well as highlights some of the tourist offerings in the area.
