Speaking in tongues: 21 accents in Spanish
Remember that talented actress who did the 21 accents in English? Well, we knew it was just a matter of time before somebody would follow her lead and do the same thing in Spanish. Carlos Santos, host of MTV’s Mi TRL, takes a crack at it. Not sure how accurate he is but he is very amusing, with the wackiest ones being his radio announcer accent (#10) and his Argentine/Uruguayan/Chilean accent (#12-14, 14?). His rendition of an accent from Spain (#11) is pretty funny, with him saying “vamos, venga, vamos, tapas” and moving his hands a lot. (Hey Carlos, what happened to making fun of the “Castilian lisp“?)

The girl was more impressive because it was all one take. Still pretty funny. Good find.

I get annoyed when people mistake the Chilean accent for the Argentine one. It was really funny though and I guess that was the point.

He did really miss the Chilean accent by a lot. But I think the point of the joke there was that he kept doing the same accent. I really enjoyed this, but now that I’ve heard this, one could do a lot more than 21 distinct accents in Spanish. On a good day, with a few beers, I can do 8 or so.
#10 was definitely awesome.

N°14. Far far of chilean accent. Sorry.
The Chilean accent is more sweet that the Argentine accent, but we almost didn´t pronounce the “s”.
We are more far of the world, for this reason the accent chilean is more diferent of the Region, but we understand perfectly the Spanish of the all Latinoamerica and Spain.
thanks !
Cheers from Chile !

hey man you missed the chilean accent, you get close only to the central accents which we (southern cone) do not like much…
