Keeping up with the Joneses
For the first time in U.S. history, two Hispanic last names (Garcia and Rodríguez) are among the Top 10 surnames in the U.S. population, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. According to the New York Times, it’s the first time that non-Anglo last names have been in the top 10. And there are six Hispanic last names among the top 25 surnames in the United States. The increase is a clear indication of the growing presence of Hispanics in the U.S.
