7 Signs that you are in Madrid

Commodore in Spain, aka Chris Adkins from Vanderbilt University, has come up with a fun list of ways to tell that you’re in Madrid. With his tongue firmly in cheek, Chris, who is in Spain on a study abroad program, rattles off a few things he’s already noticed during his short stay in la capital de España. You can check out his entire list here, but these were my personal favorites from his list:

  • Shameless PDA is pretty much everywhere you look.
  • Mullets are the latest and hottest hairstyle.
  • A dog being walked on a leash is a foreign concept.
  • Going up to a leg of ham and slicing off a piece is completely normal.
  • Waiting lines are replaced by waiting crowds with no clear order.
  • Drivers think that sitting with their hand on the horn will make traffic jams disappear.
  • Personal conversations amongst employees are completely acceptable, even if you’re waiting for them to help you.
  • Euro Mullet spotted in Barcelona by photographer TonySeattle.
